Instant OGo Feature Update: November 2006

November 13, 2006 Skyrix is offering a new update for its Instant OGo Groupware Linux. It features an easy-to-use integrated LDAP directory server that sets up a central email address and phone book.

This upgrade is free of charge for customers which have a valid maintenance subscription.

  • New Productivity Features
    • LDAP Address Book: Skyrix has made it easy to integrate the OpenGroupware's contact database with users e-mail clients — thanks to Central Directory, InstantOGo's standards-based directory service.
    • Support for Mixed-Platform Environments: Central Directory uses OpenLDAP, the open source implementation of the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, to provide directory services for mixed-platform environments. Users can move effortlessly between Web user interface and native email clients and still gain access to directory-based groupware resources.
  • Security Improvements
    • Root Password Protection: The activation process gets authorization on demand by a new token based auth method for the benefit to drop out the stored copy of groupware administrators password from the administrative interface.

    • added 'salutation' to contact quick-create panel in apt-editor
    • fixed some label
    • use new add-me/remove-me/change-attendee status commands in participants list (fixes OGo bug #1771)
    • fixed some issues in apt formletter support

    • fixed duplicate 'comment' key in person records (OGo bug #1598)

    • (OGo bug #1744) eleminates a refresh/fetch issue in person/company viewer
    • (OGo bug #1742) properly display person comment in appointment formletter
    • (OGo bug #1730) fixed a WebDAV auto-check issue
    • (OGo bug #1771) confirm/reject doesn't cause anymore appointments to be erroneously removed from a user's calendar
    • (OGo bug #1739) SkyDirectActionDialer_Link now correctly escapes telephone numbers starting with '+' sign
